Drinking, Men! The Story of Beer Drinkers in Space
Synopsis: In 1983, a group of friends who worked at Disney building EPCOT decided to make a movie. None of them had ever made a feature-length movie before, but they used their creative talents, project management skills and sense of teamwork from Disney to create Beer Drinkers in Space. The movie took nine months to complete and consumed their lives and their homes as they constructed spaceship interior sets in family rooms, bedrooms, and garages. Elaborate models and pyrotechnics were shot. The script was transferred to cue cards and the intrepid movie makers popped open a few beers and got in front of the cameras to shoot this camp comedy feature. Now, over 23 years later, Beer Drinkers in Space writer/director Frank Delle found and interviewed every person involved with the production of the movie. Using these new interviews, as well as photographs, raw footage, behind the scenes footage and clips from the movie, Keep Drinking Men! The Story of Beer Drinkers in Space takes an affectionate look back at this quirky project.

Drinkers in Space (1983)
Synopsis: Beer Drinkers in Space has a special place in cinematic history in that it never made cinematic history. It's hard to understand what went wrong. You'd think a story about a star tanker crew led by an inept, Captain Kirk-wanna be commander and an openly gay navigator hauling beer across deep space to Nebulae 7-11 would have mass audience appeal. Throw in subplots that featured an evil race of Prohbe aliens bent on destroying the ship and its cargo, underage aliens who stow away aboard the star tanker to do some illegal drinking, a former flame of the star tanker commander who explores the dark side with the Prohbes, and a renegade fighter pilot who saves the day and you'd think you'd have an instant hit. But sadly, that wasn't the case. Bad timing? Bad marketing? Bad movie? It was all of that and so much more! But when you get right down to it, even after more than 23 years, Beer Drinkers in Space is still laugh out loud funny when you're under the influence of a few cold ones. So pop open a beer each time Captain Slosh yells "Condition Yellow!" And be prepared to consume mass quantities when he gives the order to go to "Condition Red!" In the immortal words of Captain Slosh, "Keep drinking, men!"
